An analog electronic harmonograph where sound generates image directly through electricity.
The visual shapes are produced by the audio signal itself, revealing the harmonic relationship between the left and right channels as stable geometric figures.
Various audio waveforms give rise to corresponding visual shapes: a sine wave forms a circle, a square wave forms a square. Intertwining harmonies add depth, perspective, and motion.
Further consonances deepen the structure and set it into motion, while dissonances disrupt its regularity. Effects such as reverb and spatialization dissolve the image. Bit degradation lowers both audio and video signals.
The exploration lies in finding forms that remain equally compelling both visually and sonically.
Here, an analog synthesizer drives the waveforms live. Sound and image are generated solely through direct analog electrical interaction. No digital processing is used, either before or after capture.
